Covering the music ecosystem in Fort Collins, Colorado through multimedia journalism.
Music has always been a part of me. Music has been my best friend, my support system, my encouragement and my solitude. My earliest memories are rooted in music. I studied music throughout school. Music has taught me who I am and lead me to where I am today.
Music is fundamentally needed in our world. The stories of musicians are some of the greatest tales of struggle and defeat. I am blessed to live in a city that believes in music not only as entertainment but as a viable resource to the community and state.
Through this blog, I am writing about how the ecosystem of Fort Collins music is being nurtured, and all of the people who are a part of the ecosystem.
An ecosystem thrives on every independent component. The community we live in has various working mechanisms that foster growth as a whole unit.
The expertise I have to tell these stories is my background in music and journalism. I have AA in music theory and performance from Front Range. I have BA in journalism and technical communication from Colorado State University with a minor in music. I have an MA in new media journalism.
I have a deep love for live music, photography, culture, adventure, and art.
I am for hire for freelance writing projects, podcast, photography, and live coverage of events, content marketing, and social media strategy.
I have worked on projects in film, education, artisan craft, food, cycling, music, craft beer, social justice, technology, and cheese.
